Upon meeting Becky (unfortunately Sam couldn't make our meeting!) I fell in love with the description of what was going to be a stunning, elegant celebration, and was even more besotted when towards the end of our meeting she blurted out she wanted owls. Yes. Owls.

I didn't quite know where this would fit into the day but I was excited to find out.

They booked a September date at Maunsel House. I'd not had the pleasure of working at Maunsel at that point but I knew it was quirky manor house with lots of charm that I'd been dying to photograph. I visited the venue and fell in love. This gorgeously quirky house just 25 minutes from me has such a special place in my heart now, and hopefully you'll see why! 2000 acres of grounds and the house itself has OODLES of charm and class.

I arrived in the morning for preparations, Becky was upstairs in the Kings Room with her bridal party. Sam and his groomsmen were in the cottages on site nearby so I could nip between the two quite easily.

Unfortunately the weather wasn't on our side and provided us with a rather soggy, wet day. Did this stop the fun? Absolutely not. Becky and Sam were full of love, admiration and it makes my heart melt seeing how they look at each other. OK I know it's mushy but I'm an emotional person!

Admittedly we didn't have the opportunity to use the lovely grounds on this occasion because of the weather but the house provides some rather regal settings that Downton Abbey would be envious of!
